Vice President Urges for Fitness Culture and Traditional Medicine at 18th Foundation Day Celebration of NITM
The Vice-President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, delivered a powerful message today at the 18th Foundation Day celebrations of ICMR – National Institute of Traditional Medicine (NITM) in Belagavi. He emphasized the need to develop a fitness culture in the country to ensure every Indian is fit and healthy, contributing positively to India’s March for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
VP Dhankhar highlighted the importance of focusing on traditional medicine systems which embody a perfect blend of science, philosophy, and spirituality. He called for the promotion of medicinal and herbal plants at the Panchayat level and urged corporate leaders to support research and development through CSR initiatives.
Recognizing the significance of India’s traditional medicine practices, including Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Yoga, VP Dhankhar praised the profound wisdom of our ancestors. He emphasized the harmonious balance between mind, body, and spirit, stressing the need to protect biodiversity and traditional knowledge for future generations.
The Vice-President also commended the researchers at NITM for their efforts in providing affordable solutions to modern-day diseases. He appealed to corporate and public leaders to extend their support to research, development, and innovation for the benefit of all.
