Burnley Leisure and Culture Upgrades Fitness Facilities Across Borough
Burnley Leisure and Culture has recently made significant upgrades to its facilities at St Peter’s Leisure Centre and Padiham Leisure Centre thanks to a £750,000 investment in partnership with Burnley Council. The newly refurbished gyms and cycling studios at these sites have now reopened, with improvements made to the changing areas as well.
Sarah Drinkwater, operations manager project lead, expressed her gratitude to loyal members for their patience during the construction work. She highlighted the inclusive nature of the fitness areas, which aim to bring the community together and remove barriers to physical activity.
The trust partnered with Life Fitness to create an inspiring gym layout that encourages participation and fosters a sense of camaraderie among members. The expanded gym space at St Peter’s offers top-of-the-line equipment for strength and conditioning training, catering to a wide range of fitness levels and abilities.
In addition to the physical upgrades, Burnley Leisure and Culture will be offering free educational programs on weight training, with a focus on the benefits for women during menopause. The trust is also passionate about providing boxing training to female members to boost confidence in the boxing areas.
Scott Bryce, head of operations, praised the team for developing premium-grade workout spaces that cater to the diverse needs of the community. The trust is proud to offer first-class facilities and training experiences to support the health and happiness of local residents.
Overall, the upgrades at St Peter’s and Padiham Leisure Centres represent a commitment to providing inclusive and accessible fitness options for all members of the community, fostering a supportive environment for physical and mental wellbeing.
