Conor McGregor Becomes Part Owner of BKFC: MMA Star’s Latest Business Venture
Conor McGregor Makes Shocking Announcement at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Event
Last night at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship President, David Feldman, took to the broadcaster’s booth after the co-main event of KnuckleMania 4 to make what he called “the biggest announcement in BKFC history.” The announcement? UFC megastar Conor McGregor revealed in a video that he has become a part owner of the BKFC.
McGregor announced that his company, McGregor Sports and Entertainment, has acquired a minority stake in the BKFC. This unexpected news sent shockwaves through the combat sports world, with MMA GOAT contender Demetrious Johnson even tipping his hat to McGregor, comparing him to Hollywood superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
“Becoming the part owner of the BKFC is just another feather in Conor McGregor’s business empire,” Johnson said. “I feel like Conor McGregor is kind of like the MMA Dwayne Johnson; anything this man touches, it turns to gold.”
However, Johnson did sound a note of caution for McGregor, wondering if his foray into bare knuckle fighting will be as successful as his other ventures. McGregor, known for his successful bar in Dublin, media company ‘TheMacLife’, fitness and apparel brands, and liquor brand Proper No. 12, has a history of turning his business endeavors into gold.
While McGregor’s entry into the BKFC was well-received, some fans were disappointed by his absence from the event. McGregor’s absence was likely due to his upcoming fight in the UFC octagon after a three-year hiatus. Dana White announced at UFC 300 earlier this month that McGregor will face Michael Chandler in a welterweight bout at UFC 303 on June 29, marking his much-awaited comeback.
