David Beckham’s Company Sues Mark Wahlberg’s F45 Over Breach of Contract
David Beckham and Mark Wahlberg’s companies are set to go head-to-head in court over a financial dispute involving the fitness giant F45. Beckham’s company, DB Ventures Limited, filed a lawsuit against F45, owned in part by Wahlberg, alleging breach of contract.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Beckham claimed that he had entered into a five-year agreement with F45 as a brand ambassador, with the understanding that he would be compensated with $1.5 million annually, as well as shares of the company to be issued after it went public in 2021. However, F45 allegedly failed to fulfill its end of the agreement by not providing the cash and equity compensation as stipulated.
The lawsuit, which was initially filed in 2022 and moved to federal court in May 2023, is set to go to trial in January 2025. Beckham’s company is seeking damages of $5 million, $4.5 million, and $1.7 million for various additional claims related to the breach of contract.
F45 attempted to have the lawsuit dismissed, arguing that DB Ventures Limited had misinterpreted the terms of the contract. However, a judge denied F45’s motion to dismiss in September 2023.
Beckham, who announced his partnership with F45 in 2021, expressed excitement about the business venture and the opportunity to expand globally with the company. Despite promoting F45 on social media, Beckham later removed his posts about the company.
Representatives for both Beckham and Wahlberg have not responded to requests for comment on the matter. Stay tuned for updates on this legal battle as it unfolds.
