Active Life Fitness Hosts Annual Collingwood Combine to Find Fittest Athletes and Support Local Sports Teams

The Collingwood Combine, hosted by Active Life Conditioning, is back for its second year, offering a fun fitness competition for youth and adults in the community. The event, taking place on May 4 and 5, aims to test the fitness levels of participants through four challenging exercises: the pro agility run, vertical jump, single leg pente jump, and a one-minute push on the assault bike.

But this event isn’t just about physical fitness. Organizers Sarah Applegarth and Rob Buxton have also incorporated a community sports component. Participants can register and indicate which local sports teams they play for, with their registration fee being donated to their chosen club. The event costs have been covered by generous local sponsors, highlighting the community support for youth sports.

“This event is a great way to get the youth more involved in the community, especially after the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Buxton. The Combine also allows sports organizations to promote their details and registration at the event, fostering connections between athletes and local teams.

In addition to the fitness tests, the event will also offer baseline concussion testing for those interested. Participants will compete in waves throughout the day, with prizes being awarded to the top athletes in each age category.

With a focus on promoting fitness, supporting local sports teams, and bringing the community together, the Collingwood Combine is shaping up to be an exciting and meaningful event for all involved. To register and learn more, visit the Active Life website.
